According to the news – American Association of University Women Brattleboro branch awarded the amount of $1,000 each tofour college scholarships of Windham County students. The four scholars are three high school graduates and one woman who continues to work towards college degree.
They are Suzanne Edwards of Townshend who graduated from Leland & Gray Union High School, Erin LeBlanc and Helen Suntag of Brattleboro who both graduated from Brattleboro Union High School and Saryn Lauzon of Brattleboro who continues working towards a degree in nursing at Vermont Technical College.
AAUW president Mary Hawkes chaired the scholarship committee. The money for scholarships came from the profits of annual Book Sale in August and a hospitality day at the Welcome Center.
