Bishop State Community College receives $25,000 grant

Bishop State Community College is very happy to receive the grant worth $25,000 coming from BP PLC. The grant will help to upgrade the schools science and math facilities.

According to the President of Bishop State Community College James Lowe he said that the community college already formed a relationship with BP PLC while he was still on governor’s task force for cleaning up related to the oil spills last year. The oil spill happened last April 20 when Deepwater Horizon oil rig explored. He also added that BP Officials went to the community college for a tour and he shared that they need improvements especially for their science and math facilities.BP PLC offered to help Bishop State Community College and they came up with $25,000.

General Manager of External relations for BP in Alabama, Ayana Mc-Intosh Lee made a statement, saying that BP’s investment “will prepare graduates with the technical skills necessary to enter and succeed in the local workforce.”
