California State University Stanislaus Grants To benefit student programs

California State University Stanislaus is a public institution that was founded in 1957.

California State University, Stanislaus has been awarded $5.8 million in federal grants over five years to provide further resources and help specifically Hispanic and low-income students. CSU, Stanislaus’s student body is currently 30.7 percent Hispanic.

Title V grants consist of part A and B funding designated particularly for Hispanics. The “Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program” will benefit graduate students through 10 annually awarded fellowships of $10,000.

The purpose of the fellowship is to help improve engagement, retention and graduation rates with special attention to Hispanics and first-generation students.

California State University Stanislaus applied for the Title V federal grants. Now that Stanislaus knows it has been granted this funding, it can begin next year. The Fellowships will be available to eligible Hispanic graduate students as of Spring 2011.

3rd annual rib and chicken cook-off in California State University Stanislaus

California State University, Stanislaus Warrior Baseball will have its 3rd annual rib and chicken cook-off. They will also have car show.

The event will be held on the 9th of October, Saturday and will be from 12p.m to 5p.m. in California State University Stanislaus baseball field.

Tickets will be available but will include rib and chicken, plus car show.

This will be a fun day at the Fan Fest in California State University Stanislaus.

There will be Fan Fest activities for all ages, and live music.

So come out and join, everybody is condially invited to witness the event.
