According to the news – It was announced that Dixie State College of Utah receive the amount of $300,00 in grant from National Aeronautics and Space Administration to support students and staff for the International Space Station and National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Thermosphere Ionosphere-Mesosphere Energy and Dynamics satellite mission.
The research seeks to understand the impacts of solar and geomagnetic storms on Earth-orbiting spacecraft according to the principal investigator of projects for Aerospace Corporation, Dr. Andrew Christensen. Dr. Christensen worked as a staff member in DSC’s science department and is responsible for the design, construction and data collection on the instruments.
The grant amounting to $300K will let DSC pre-engineering students to work as sub-contractors for Aerospace Corporation and data research collected from the International Space Station and Thermosphere Ionosphere-Mesosphere Energy and Dynamics satellite will be reported to National Aeronautics and Space Administration for publication.
