According to the news – Dan Rutherford who is the State Treasurer has a bad news for people who put their money into college saving accounts last week. They will not get a matching donation that they had expected.
Bright Start savings program participants were told the deposits of up to $250 would be matched dollar for dollar. The offer is only limited to first 2,500 people.
The Bright Start website did not display up to date details and it showed that the matching money was still available even after first 2,5000 slots had been filled. People contributed after the limit was reached will not be getting extra money.
Treasurer Dan Rutherford spokeswoman said that they are not sure how many people were affected on the issue. Their office is working with Oppenheimer Funds to know what went wrong.
