Jamestown College accounting students are again offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance for low-income and elderly taxpayers. The students will prepare tax returns by appointment, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 5, 12, 19, and 26 in the Unruh and Sheldon Center on the Jamestown College campus.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 253-4468. If there is no answer, please leave a message and the call will be returned. Appointments can also be made by sending e-mail to vita@jc.edu.

The service is free. Federal and state returns are filed electronically. Taxpayers should bring all tax documents such as: Social Security cards, W-2s, 1099s, information regarding retirement plan contributions, child care, purchasing a new home, and statements for property taxes and interest paid on a home. Bring a voided check or a savings account number for any direct deposit of refunds.

Jamestown College Dating

Jamestown College students Sieara Rivinius and Lexy Weber will present a piano recital at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28 in DeNault Auditorium. The recital is free and open to the public.

Rivinius, a sophomore from Gackle, will perform Handel’s Sonatina, Chopin’s Prelude in B Minor, and Grieg’s Puck Op. 71 No. 3. She is pursuing a major in Music Performance and a minor in Christian Ministry. She has been active in Theatre at Jamestown College and has played piano for Ignition and Chapel services.

Weber, a sophomore from Britton, S.D., will perform Schubert’s Impromptu Theme and Variations Op. 142 No. 3, Bach’s Fugue in C Minor BWV 847, and Brahms’ Rhapsody in G Minor Op. 79 No. 2. She is pursuing a major in Applied Music with a concentration in Piano. She has been active in Concert Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Band and ROOTS Ministry Team. She is an accompanist for Chapel Choir.

Rivinius and Weber are piano students of Dr. William Wojnar, Professor of Music. The program will be presented on the Steinway concert grand piano which was a recent gift to the College by Della Leapaldt, in memory of Alvin Leapaldt, and by Unison Bank. The piano is frequently featured in concerts in DeNault Auditorium.
