According to the news – Governor Scott Walker challenge Sheila Ruhland to take the budget bill as Moraine Park Technical College new president.
The two-year, state budget of $66-billion, headed to Governor Scott Walker’s desk after it cleared the state Legislature with only Republican votes, cuts aid to technical colleges by 72 million or 30 percent.
Sheila Ruhland said she recognizes the work ahead and the challenges they are now facing. She added that she will go aboard to join a very strong team set up under the previous leadership.
She also said that the Federal budget cuts that support career technical education also appear to be eminent. No doubt the cuts will have an impact on their school and their property tax levy, as well as collective bargaining with our faculty and staff. She intends to provide leadership and support to the groups.
