Regents approve higher college tuition in Nevada College

According to the news – The Board of Regents voted Friday to increase the 13 percent undergraduate fees this coming academic year. The payment of graduate students will increase to 5 percent this upcoming school year and 5 percent more than after that.

Nearly all employees will receive the 4.8 percent pay cut but exceptions were made for those whose pay is fully funded by outside grants.

Overall, state higher education system will face $85.5 million cut in state funding next year.
It will increase the fee cost of attending university next year in full time that will be amounting to $400 a year. The fifteen percent of the total raised by the increase will be kept for need-based financial aid.
The fee increase and pay cuts are expected to give some $30 million in cuts system wide.
