According to source, Stonehill College returned to action following the mid-year break with a second place finish at the University of New Hampshire Tri-Meet at Paul Sweet Oval today.
Stonehill finished with 145 points to finish behind host New Hampshire’s 212.50 points. College of the Holy Cross was third (119) and Worcester State College fourth (101.50) in the team standings.
Sophomore All-American Corey Thomas (Brookline, Mass./BC High) was a double-winner once again for Stonehill, winning the 55-meter high hurdles with his time of 7.68-seconds, edging freshman teammate Xavier Harris-Dixon (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) and his time of 7.79-seconds. Thomas qualified first for the final with a preliminary time of 7.77-seconds, while Harris-Dixon qualified third in 8.00-seconds flat.
Thomas finished in a first place tie in the high jump with a leap of 6-feet, 6.25-inches in his other event. He has won this event in all three indoor meets so far this season. Harris-Dixon was also eighth in the 200-meter dash in 24.82-seconds.
