According to source – A shabby community sports hall does not appear such as the spot for London’s fashion elite to collect for any show by a lot of 22-year-olds.

However these aren’t just any kids – and also the host is not your fundamental local college.

It is the clever and professional annual presentation for bachelor’s degree students at Central Saint Martins, among the world’s best fashion schools.

Couple of fashion schools can claim the network of support that Saint Martins likes. It was the launch pad of Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, John Galliano, Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney, and it’s those connections that help nurture future stars.

As the 40 designers dressing models backstage recently within their final-project collections are unknown students, there’s a remarkable selection from the catwalk wanting to cheer them on.

Out to Dinner: St Martin’s Courtyard LFW talent exhibition

According to source, St Martin’s Courtyard in Covent Garden is joining forces with designer Kei Kagami and fastenings manufacturer YKK for a new exhibition, the aim of which is to highlight the role London plays in the development of young designers.

The exhibition will take place throughout London Fashion Week (next week!) and features a glow in the dark sculpture by Kei Kagami, created with YKK zips. Surrounding it will be selected pieces designed by students from Central Saint Martin’s, International Talent Support, London College of Fashion, Royal College of Art and Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

More established designers will also be exhibiting their creations to bring a real diversity to the event. Matteo Molinari, who won the London College of Fashion 2011 MA for his crochet tailoring, will be one of the exhibitors; alongside Rob Goodwin, who has had commissions from Vogue in the past.

It runs from 17 February to 10 March, and admission is free. Visit St Martin’s Courtyard for more details.
