According to source – The 3-year pilot is not complete for that Madison branch of Tulane University, but it is obvious the school of Ongoing Studies is a mainstay in Madison.

Within 14 several weeks, nearly 100 students take presctiption track toward levels, and much more choices are coming this fall.

“We decided there is a strong market to expand offerings and make it a full-blown program,” Dean Richard Marksbury said.

The school has evening classes, but morning and mid-day non-credit classes is going to be offered within the fall.

According to source – The newly named dean of the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University has been on the job less than two weeks and as of Thursday was still living out of a hotel, but already has begun in earnest an effort to create a school that will endow students with a system of values just as it imparts them with business education and skills. Doing so, Solomon believes, will create business leaders who are able to communicate effectively, think critically and avoid unethical behavior.

According to source, Crawfest will expand to Newcomb Quad in anticipation of a significant increase in attendees, artists and vendors this year.

A portion of Newcomb Place will be closed to traffic to create a single open space. Food vendors, non-profits and clubs will line the edges of the Newcomb Quad, and art vendors and the crawfish stand will occupy the sides of the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad.

Crawfest Committee Chair Becky Sahm, who has headed the board for the past two years, said one of the major reasons for expansion was to better incorporate the New Orleans community into the festival.

“A lot of people think that Crawfest is some old tradition at Tulane, but this is actually only its fifth year,” Sahm said. “We’re pretty excited about how much it’s grown, and we want to make it even bigger by inviting more community members to attend. It’d be amazing if our festival could eventually turn into a staple of New Orleans alongside events like French Quarter Fest and JazzFest.”

Take Back the Night march at Tulane University

“Awareness Month for Tulane University.”

The Tulane University School of Medicine was founded in 1834 and is the 15th oldest medical school in the United States.

Loyola University New Orleans and Tulane University will join with the New Orleans community to raise awareness of sexual violence during the 19th annual Take Back the Night march.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, students, faculty, staff, friends and neighbors will gather in the horseshoe outside of Marquette Hall on Loyola’s main campus at 6 p.m. Here, participants will listen to the powerful story of a survivor of sexual violence and a tribute to Kimberly Kelly, a Tulane graduate student who was fatally shot last May in a suspected domestic violence incident.

Take Back the Night is designed to heighten awareness of sexual violence and to empower survivors. The event calls for an end to gender-based violence throughout the New Orleans community.
