According to  source, The Oklahoma City-County Health Department and Central Oklahoma Turning Point have announced the winners of the 2010 Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business awards, which recognize companies and organizations that work to improve employee health.

The top prizes, Awards of Excellence, were given to Accord Human Resources; Boeing Co. Defense & Government Services; University of Central Oklahoma; Chesapeake Energy; Integris Health; Jason’s Deli; Kimray; Oklahoma Health Care Authority; OU Physicians; St. Anthony Hospital; and Variety Care.

Awards of Merit were given to the following companies or entities: the city of Edmond; The Hertz Corporation at Northwest Expressway, Pennsylvania Avenue and Quail Springs Parkway; Oklahoma City Community College; Oklahoma City-County Health Department; the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic; Oklahoma City University; the state Health Department; Subway Restaurants; and UPS.

University Dating

According to source, Several colleges will be closed Wednesday because of the expected snowstorm.

The University of Central Oklahoma has canceled all evening classes and activities after 4 p.m. today. Campus will be closed Wednesday.

Oklahoma State University’s main campus also will be closed Wednesday. Classes and bus routes will take place tonight as scheduled.

OSU officials issued an announcement warning students and employees to be careful and use good judgment when driving or walking in snowy or icy conditions.

University officials will evaluate conditions on campus Wednesday to make a decision about Thursday’s classes and activities.

Students and faculty can watch for details on the university’s website and through e-mail, social media and local media outlets.

The OSU women’s basketball game against Texas Tech is still scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Admission is free.

OSU’s Physical Plant Services will start removing snow as soon as possible, officials said. People should move their cars from core parking lots, not including residential lots, to help speed up those efforts.
