University of Guam offers scholarships

According to the news – Currently, University of Guam is now offering the scholarships to students.

The deadline for University of Guam Western Pacific Coral Reef Institute Scholarships is on August 12.

The deadline of registration for University of Guam Course on Northern Guam Lens Aquifer is on July 29.

Residents’ students of Micronesia who are currently studying biology or environmental science at the University of Guam can avail Western Pacific Coral Reef Institute scholarships.

Western Pacific Coral Reef Institute anticipates funding three awards of $5,376 for Fall Semester 2011 and $4,288 for undergraduates. The deadline is on August 12 at 5 p.m. Interested students can download the application from University of Guam website. After filling up the needed information, they need to submit it to the UOG Financial Aid Office located in the field house.

Dave J. Santos Scholarship offered by the Guam Chamber of Commerce will be awarded in the 2011-2012 academic year.

According to the news – University of Guam’s Micronesian Language Institute is now offering month long Chamorro class. The title of the class is the ‘AÅ of CHamoru: A Media Based Curriculum Development Workshop Part II.

The deadline of the registration is last July 8. The 3 credit course is scheduled 3 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in in HSS304 at UOG’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The three instructors of the class are Cyrus Rolbin, Simone Bollinger and Rosa Salas Palomo.
The course collaborates as a creative production team to make professional introductory curriculum in Chamorro language and culture.

The person who intends to participate are potential and the at moment Chamorro language and culture teacher. Also, the participants of summer 2010 “CM494/G ABCs of CHamoru Phase I” course, UOG students, GDOE personnel and Guam ESL Certification Plus Project participants.
