The University of South Alabama isn’t happy with its grade on this year’s Green Report Card.

After scoring a D-minus for four straight years, USA inched up to a D-plus on the 2011 College Sustainability Report Card, which grades schools on efforts to go green on campus.

The report is released annually by the Sustainable Endowments Institute in Cambridge, Mass.
“Their assessment is incomplete and misleading,” USA spokesman Keith Ayers said Friday.

Ayers said USA spent “considerable time and effort this summer providing factual information” to the group about its green initiatives, but that information was not included in the latest online report.

Schools were graded in nine categories: administration, climate change and energy, food and recycling, green building, transportation, student involvement, endowment transparency, shareholder engagement and investment priorities.

University of South Alabama freshman quarterback C.J. Bennett has been suspended for South Alabama Jaguars’ Football Game Saturday due to a violation of team rules.

Head football coach Joey Jones announced Friday.

In his first two collegiate contests, C.J. Bennett has completed 5-of-9 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown

South Alabama is a public institution that was founded in 1963. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 11408.

The Jaguars will play Edward Waters (Fla.) in the Wiregrass Football Classic.
