According to the news – University System of Georgia is currently dealing with $300 million in state budget cuts and University of Georgia President Michael Adams and two other college presidents are getting a salary raise.

The salary of President Adam will increase from $150,000 to $200,000 under action the state Board of Regents took earlier this month, which makes him the highest paid president of the system.

The salary of President Fort Valley State University Larry Rivers and President Albany State University Everette Freeman will increase from $198,456 to $225,000.

University system spokesman John Millsaps said that the two presidents have been in their position for 5 years already and had been the lowest paid president leading similar colleges. The increase of their salary will put them on par with recent hires.
