Univesity of Pennsylvania professor visits Mercy Medical Center

According to the news – In August 19, afternoon Mercy Medical Center Leiter will host one of America’s top medical researchers in their Leiter Room. Univesity of Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Molecular Medicine professor. Dr. Frederick S. Kaplan will tackle about the topic “Why Do Some People Form a Second Skeleton?”

Dr. Kaplan will provide details about FOP to Siouxland health care providers and also give an update on his present research at his Grand Rounds presentation at Mercy Medical Center.

Dr. Frederick S. Kaplan is known as the nation’s leading researcher and authority of a rare and disabling disorder, which is called fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. Dr. Kaplan will visit Sioux City to cooperate in a special fundraiser for Lincoln. It will be held August 19, 5:30 p.m at the Nativity Parish Center. The tickets are $10 for advance and $12 for the door  evening of the event.
