According to the news – From June 29 until July 4 Vermont College of Fine Arts will be hosting a series of readings by popular authors.

The readings are free and open to the public that will have a reception to follow each one.

Pulitzer Prize winning poet Claudia Emerson is the first series, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29 at 7:15 p.m. in the Chapel. In 2006, she was awarded a Pulitzer in Poetry for her book, “Late Wife: Poems.” Emerson is the newly appointed Poet Laureate of Virginia.

Creative nonfiction writer Honor Moore is scheduled to speak on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Moore published a memoir, “The Bishop’s Daughter”. It was actually named by the Los Angeles Times as Favorite Book of 2008 and also “Editor’s Choice” by the New York Times. Honor Moore published several other books, which includes “The White Blackbird, A life of the Painter Margaret Sargent by Her Granddaughter.”

Alumni creative non-fiction writer Neela Vaswani is scheduled to speak about her workon Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Noble Lounge. She wrote “Where the Long Grass Bends: Stories” and “You Have Given Me a Country. She as upcoming book, “Same Sun Here,” that will due to release next year. In 2006, she receive O. Henry Prize and an Independent Book Publisher’s Award silver medal
