According to source, The Washington & Jefferson College women’s swimming and diving team became the third squad in school history to finish the dual-meet season with an undefeated record after knocking off Division II Wheeling Jesuit 143-111 on Saturday afternoon at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.

The W&J women (13-0) join the 1993-94 and 2004-2005 Presidents as the only undefeated teams in the 34-year history of the sport at the college.

On the men’s side, Wheeling Jesuit defeated the Washington & Jefferson men (7-4-1) by a 141-104 margin.

Leading the way for the Washington & Jefferson women were juniors C.J. Corcoran (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and Brittany Vogel (Butler, Pa./Butler).

Corcoran started the day by swimming on the victorious 200 medley relay (1:53.98) and then adding wins in the 50 (25.37) and 100 (55.72) freestyles. She also helped the 200 freestyle relay notch the final race with a time of 1:44.42. Vogel also swam on the 200 medley relay before also capturing the 200 backstroke (2:15.41) and 400 IM (4:45.65).

Freshman Isabella Diaz (Walnut Creek, Calif./Las Lomas) won the 1650 freestyle in a pool record time of 18:45.33. Her time eclipsed the previous record which had stood since 1989.
