According to the news – Out of 32 contestants of Miss Kentucky, Student of Western Kentucky University, Ann-Blair Thornton of bowling green received the title Miss Kentucky 2011.

On January 14, she will represent Kentucky in the Miss American Pageant in Las Vegas. The talent of Ann Blair Thornton during the pageant was a piano performance.

Ann-Blair Thornton is majoring in English and economics at Western Kentucky. According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, her platform is Alzheimer’s awareness and research.

Ann-Blair Thornton received $11,000 scholarship and more than $5,000 in clothing certificates, together with jewelry, dry cleaning, dental care, use of a car for a year, personal fitness training and more other prizes and services.

Western Kentucky University (WKU) is a public university in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA. It was formally founded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1906.

The Western Kentucky University Alumni Association has launched a WKU Spirit magazine iPad application available for free at the Apple iTunes App Store.

The application has the same multimedia features available as a digital edition released in the spring.
