Wichita State University is a public institution that was founded in 1895.

Richard Muma has been promoted to associate provost for quality assurance and accountability at Wichita State University.

That position operates under the university’s office of academic affairs and research.
Muma will start his new role Jan. 1, when senior associate provost Martha Shawver retires.

Muma is professor and chair of Wichita State University Department of Public Health Sciences in the College of Health Professions. His 14 years on the faculty include seven as chair of the physician assistant department, where he supervises student research.
