Pi Kappa Alpha (ΠΚΑ) (sometimes called Pike or PiKA) is a secret social fraternity with 280 chapters and colonies in the United States and Canada. It is one of the top ten largest and oldest college fraternities in the United States.
It is currently the largest greek letter college fraternity in terms of average chapter size. The largest Fraternity house under a roof in the United States is a Pi Kappa Alpha House (Florida State University).
The fraternity was founded at 47 West Range at the University of Virginia on March 1, 1868 at a time when that university was the fifth largest school in the United States.
There were six Founders: Robertson Howard, Julian Edward Wood, James Benjamin Sclater Jr., Frederick Southgate Taylor, Littleton Waller Tazewell Bradford and William Alexander.
